The Dalles Mountain Ranch is a working ranch on the Washington side of the Gorge across the river from The Dalles.

It's a long drive from Portland, but well worth in the spring when the Golden Yarrow and the Lupine are blooming. You'll also enjoy unbelievable vistas of the Columbia Hills, the Gorge, the Columbia River, Mount Hood, and the wheatfields of eastern Oregon.

The entire ranch was deeded to the state of Washington by the last owners, and is now a state park, accessed by cars and hiking trails.

It's often very windy here - so bring a good shell, hat and gloves to stay warm.

Directions
From Portland, driving east on I-84, take exit #87 and drive north on U.S. 197 across the Columbia River bridge. Continue north about four miles to SR 14, and turn right, heading east. The park is located at milepost-85.

From Washington: Drive east or west on SR 14 along the Columbia River. The park is located at milepost-85.
